Bath Wills Blog 22nd September 2015
My first blog! I will write here about wills and probate related matters that occur to me. If they are of interest to you do feel free to comment or ask any questions.
I am an ex-solicitor currently working as a (fully insured) independent will writer in Bath. I began my career working in a high street practice dealing with wills, probate and family law (or indeed any other area that clients needed help with, up to and including being accused of murder). I then moved to the City to work at Freshfields for 6 years doing project finance, spending time working in Prague and Singapore along the way. I also spent a year on secondment at Goldman Sachs which I really enjoyed, so feel I have quite a wide ranging legal background. After locating back to Bath I moved back to the world of wills and probate - I enjoy dealing with people rather than large Indonesian power stations.
I found this article in the Guardian really struck a chord. A thoughtful account of the writer's journey towards writing her will despite her life not being as she had envisaged. I liked her thinking that making her will gave her an "opportunity to honour friendship"

Good news out today that UK best place in the world to die according to a new index.
Very impressed by the support charities like Macmillans offer to people. I provide legal support to Macmillans clients in Bath and am on hand to answer any wills related question their caseworkers may have. It is very different taking instructions from a client who is very unwell in hospital and can be humbling seeing the professionalism of the staff and courage of the patients.
I have started a new project with a local film maker, Gary Young see www.filmyourwill.com.
